Locums Ophthalmology Houghton, MI (MI or IMLC) Why This Role

• Preferred 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off schedule
• Monday-Friday, 8a-5p with no call
• Dedicated surgical and follow-up weeks

Assignment Details
• Start/end: ASAP - ongoing
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p
• Preferred rotation: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
• Week 1: Surgeries and procedures
• Week 2: Follow-up visits and clinic care
• Coverage type: Clinic + Surgery, No Call
• Setting: Outpatient clinic and surgical procedures
• Clinic volume: Minimum 4 patients/hour
• Surgical volume: Approximately 12-14 procedures/surgeries per day
• Exam rooms: 3
• Support: 2 experienced MAs
• EMR: Epic
• Credentialing: Approximately 90 days; no temporary privileges
Clinical Details
• Cataract surgery required
• Intravitreal injections required
• Phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation
• Extracapsular and intracapsular cataract extraction
• Anterior-segment, glaucoma, and corneal procedures
• Non-surgical ophthalmologic evaluation and management
• A- and B-scan ultrasound interpretation
• Ophthalmic photo interpretation
• Fluorescein angiography interpretation
• Optical coherence tomography (OCT) interpretation
• Vitreoretinal procedures preferred, not required
• Follow-up and postoperative care
Requirements
• Board Certified in Ophthalmology
• Active Michigan medical license or IMLC eligibility
• BLS required
• Strong cataract surgery experience
• Proficiency in intravitreal injections
• Experience with required anterior-segment procedures
• Comfortable maintaining a high-volume surgical and clinic schedule
• Ability to work a preferred 2-week rotation
• Hospital/surgery center privileges required
Compensation
• Rate negotiable, open to your number
